Offices and cold storage space

IMG_3065Operating a large freezer and walk-in facility for all items sushi related, Ming Hong in the City of Industry, California has changed all their florescent tubes to LED tubes by doing a simple retrofit. Most florescent tubes generate heat that exceeds 100 degrees. That means that the electrical power supplied to the florescent tubes not only generates light but also heat. The facility is paying to heat the lights and then cool the heat generated from the florescent lights. LED tubes generate 90 percent light and 10 percent heat which is the reverse of florescent tubes. Changing to LED reduces the energy consumption from the lighting and also reduces lighting maintenance to zero. LED’s will last at least 50,000 hours and do not utilize a ballast or transformer.

Freezer and Cold Storage change to LED lighting saves on power and reduces heat.
